The album continues on and I get a better understanding of what they are trying to communicate. Luckily, I don’t nearly have the same experience with this album. It’s cultural, therefore it is good and therefore it deserves respect. To me it seems that most people, when listening to world music, are all too eager to overlook pretty much anything bad, and jump up to point out anything good, simply because it’s world music. A lot of world music gets a lot of praise simply for being world music. Not much later, vocals make the scene, which I can only describe as “world music”. Why does this music sound so much like home? I have never heard their names before, and their style is foreign to say the least. After 10 seconds I feel like I have dedicated years of my life to these artists, and after having listened to their entire discography numerous times, decided to sit down and listen once again to my all-time favorite album. From the very first second, we are peaking. ![]() Source: Tidal HiFi for MQA file (explained below) DAC: Topping D30 Pro Amp: Topping A30 Pro Cans: Audeze LCD - X EQ: Small bass-boost, mid-bass boost and small boost around 4kHzīANG. ![]() Ali Farka Touré - Talking Timbuktu (with Ry Cooder) A pearl was found in the desert
